Family-owned since 1939. Still building with the same precision and accountability that started it all.
Porter Brothers traces its roots to 1939, when William S. "Bill" Porter founded the company. Bill served in the Arizona State Legislature and oversaw construction at Williams Air Force Base during World War II — bringing the discipline of military-grade accountability into commercial construction.
His son Stan joined after the war, and together they expanded the operation statewide. In 1974, Gary and Dennis Porter — Bill's grandsons — formalized the family business as Porter Bros., Inc., the entity that operates today.
Over the next 50 years, Gary and Dennis grew the company from an Arizona operation into a multi-state contractor with completed projects across seven western states. They remain the primary owners and are actively involved in day-to-day operations — a level of engagement rare at this scale.
Today, the fourth generation is taking the reins. Chase and Chance (Gary's sons) and Preston (Dennis' son) are carrying forward the values, the relationships, and the standard of work that has defined Porter Brothers for eight decades.
William S. Porter establishes the firm in Arizona. Construction at Williams Air Force Base during WWII shapes the company's culture of precision and accountability.
Father and son build the operation into a recognized Arizona contractor, taking on commercial, religious, and institutional projects across the state.
The third generation formalizes the company. Gary and Dennis take the lead on growth, expanding scope and geography over the next five decades.
Porter Brothers expands into California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, and Utah — building a reputation as a reliable multi-state contractor with Arizona roots.
Gary and Dennis remain active in operations. Chase, Chance, and Preston represent the fourth generation — continuing a family commitment spanning over eight decades.
